Computational Semiotics

Computation Semiotics is dealing with:

  1. the application of computational methods (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Neural Networks etc.) in semiotic analysis of big (textual, visual, multimodal) corpora, and
  2. the criticism of computational methods, and of informatics in general, from a semiotic viewpoint.

Semiotics of Digital Worlds

The network explores the complexity of semiosis in contemporary digital environments (e.g., video games, animation, interactive cinema etc.) and, more broadly, in new forms of art, interaction, and communication that employ technologies, such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality και Artificial Intelligence.

Semiotics of Graphic and Visual Communication

The network concerns the semiotic study of Typography/Text, Image, and Sound both individually but also in their interconnection in Graphic and Visual Communciation applications. The network’s membars are active in a wide range of relevant areas, like branding, dicual identity, advertising, graphic applications, publishing, posters, web, multimedia and social media design, etc.
